About

History of Lingaero

Lingaero was created by James Emery, a professional translator and Private Pilot based in Bordeaux, France.

The site started life as a free source of exercises to help French pilots prepare for their DGAC ELP assessment, colloquially referred to as the “FCL055 exam”.

Over time, Lingaero has evolved into a source of specialised aviation language services and resources.

Alongside our free database of listening materials, we can now organise, via our partners:

  • EASA-approved remote and in-person ELP assessments
  • English training for pilots
  • Recurrent training for French FISOs
  • Airline interview preparation
