How to use this exercise?

In this mock test you will have several messages to transmit. After each transmission click the link to hear the response from ATC. You can also show a transcription of the ATC response. You can also listen to the correct version of the message you should have transmitted.

Simulated flight IFR 1 – Aicraft information

Pilot – Message 1 Message to be transmitted by the pilot Contact Gatwick approach and give your position and tell them you have ATIS information K Listen to the correct message:

ATC – Response 1 Show transcription Easy 5WM, hello, identified, leave MID heading 240, expect radar vectors for the ILS approach runway 26L Hide transcription

Pilot – Message 2 Message to be transmitted by the pilot Tell ATC that you are very light and that your final approach speed wiil be only 125 kts Listen to the correct message:

ATC – Response 2 Show transcription Easy 5WM, thank you for the information. Reduce speed now to 180 knots, and descend to altitude 2,000 ft on QNH 1023. Hide transcription

Pilot – Message 3 Message to be transmitted by the pilot Tell ATC that a light aircraft in the circuit at Redhill aerodrome has just passed close by and has triggered a TCAS alert. Listen to the correct message:

ATC – Response 3 Show transcription Easy 5WM, roger, turn right heading 230, cleared ILS 26L report established. Hide transcription

Pilot – Message 4 Message to be transmitted by the pilot Tell ATC you are established on the ILS. Listen to the correct message:

ATC – Response 4 Show transcription Easy 5WM roger, maintain 160 knots until 4 DME and contact the tower 124.225 Hide transcription
